About me

About Katty

I am a qualified counsellor, completing my Masters in Counselling at the University of Edinburgh. I did my training at a drug and alcohol clinic in Fife, working with individuals experiencing substance and alcohol use issues, as well as psychological trauma. My time working in the field has given me a deep appreciation of how substance misuse, trauma, and identity can be interwined.

I have been a competitive rower for 13 years, where I learned the importance of discipline, teamwork and hard-work. I am also a qualified personal trainer, interested in the mind and body connection, and helping individuals gain confidence from the inside out. I am interested in working with athletes, and help to define success for the self.

How I work with you

In our counselling sessions, I offer a space where you can express how you are feeling, and together we can work to explore past experiences and feelings that might help you better understand yourself today. I value respect, empathy, curiosity and am interested in more supporting you to become a more confident, authentic and understood individual. Through online sessions, together we will facilitate a space of confidentiality, and accessible ways to engage in therapy. My priority is to ensure that you feel at ease, supported, and able to engage in the process at your own pace.

My therapeutic style

I am trained in the dialouge between person-centred and psychodynamic theories, and am interested in the body and how we operate within it. I am interested in how you feel, and what emerges for you throughout our conversations. Throughout our work together, I will ask you how are you finding the space, and we will work together to ensure that your needs are being met.

Mindful Team.
