About me

About Katty

Hi, I’m Lisa, and I'm currently studying for a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of East London. I also work in human resources for a hospital in my 9-5 job and I have volunteered for a charity called the Listening Place who specialise in assisting people who are feeling suicidal. I was interested in doing this after I went through a difficult time in my life and wanted to help people who found themselves in a similar situation.

How I work with you

I am empathetic, non-judgemental and I am prepared for you to share as much or as little as you wish. I have always been interested in understanding people as individuals and I have been told by friends and family that I’m patient and a good listener. I have a sense of humour but do not take this role lightly as I have been through therapy several times myself so I understand the relationship and trust that needs to be built between a client and a therapist.

My therapeutic style

I  am currently studying integrative counselling which means that I am learning about how to use a variety of theories to inform my practice. I am particularly interested in psychodynamic theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Transactional Analysis, while remaining grounded in a person-centred framework. This means I aim to place you at the heart of the work, creating a safe and supportive space where you can explore whatever feels important to you at your own pace.

Mindful Team.
