About me

About Katty

I have extensive experience working within the Mental Health field, in various teams and boroughs of London. Currently, I am working full time as a Mental Health Support Worker for Westminster City Council. I also continue to volunteer for Circles South East, which supports ex offenders to re-integrate back into society. I am currently studying to complete my level 4 in Therapeutic Counselling and gaining experience as a Trainee Therapist. In previous years I have obtained a Bachelor’s in psychology and Master’s in Forensic Mental Health.

How I work with you

Previously I worked as an Assistant Psychologist, where I had the opportunity to provide low intensity CBT in groups and a 1-to-1 basis. I have experience providing intensive behavioural activation and exposure therapy to clients, therefore have knowledge of how to teach clients to use CBT techniques. There have been many occasions that I have supported clients to build appropriate coping strategies, such as facilitating mindfulness workshops and including this in therapeutic work with clients. Over the past several years I have worked in various mental health teams within different boroughs of London, gaining much experience working with a wide range of client needs.

My therapeutic style

The modalities that I would be using is an integrative approach of person centred approach and psychodynamic. A key aspect of working with clients is incorporating an empathetic, non-judgemental, and genuineness. It is important for the client to discuss expectations, determine their goals, and how I can support them to meet these goals. I would want to work with the client collaboratively and enable them to make decisions for themselves to build confidence and empowerment. I have much experience working with individuals in a trauma informed way.

Mindful Team.
