About me

About Katty

My professional background is in education, as a teacher and leader, supporting the academic, emotional, and social development of pupils from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. Through this I developed a deep belief in the power of nurturing relationships to have a transformative impact on human growth and development. Both my personal and professional background has taught me the importance of ensuring that each individual’s unique needs are adjusted to and that everyone feels that they have a voice and are heard. I am a student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) currently studying CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

How I work with you

I aim to create a calm, warm and safe therapeutic space where you can freely express yourself without pressure or expectation. I work collaboratively in ways that respect your autonomy and enable you to set the pace of our sessions. Throughout our work, I am committed to offering you an empathetic, non-judgemental space where you can feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted. I listen attentively, supporting you to explore and reflect on your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in ways that guide meaningful insight.

My therapeutic style

I seek to centre your own expertise about your life and experiences, in ways that empower you to find the best path forwards. I am guided by integrative counselling, drawing on person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural approaches. This offers the flexibility to tailor our work to your unique needs, goals and what is important to you. My style is rooted in humanistic values of empathy, acceptance and honesty.

Mindful Team.
