About me

About Katty

My name is Tuginder, my alias is Bobbi. I have worked in the mental health industry for eight years, starting as a Mental health first aider for the Sikh Community at the local Gurdwara and a Befriender and Group Facilitator for Mindful Mums with Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich Mind. When I began my training as a Counsellor with London South East colleges, I worked on the Greenwich Mindline for BLG Mind as well as facilitating Mental Health workshops to African and Caribbean Community with Lewisham Wellbeing. During the Covid Pandemic I continued running the Mental Health Workshops online and expanded to delivering Mental Health Tools and Techniques to students from Greenwich University. My first clinical placement was with Greenwich Free Schools, working with Primary and Secondary school students, during this placement I completed my CPD1 Tavistock and Portman. My second placement was with Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Network, working with women who have experienced physical abuse and trauma. After completing my training, MBACP, I worked as a Counsellor and Mental Health Support Worker for Ashiana Network London, carrying out assessments and providing trauma informed therapy. Having completed my Level 5 Diploma, I am now working with Mindful People to provide Couples and Relationship Therapy.

How I work with you

I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) and am guided by the BACP ethical framework and accordingly receive professional supervision to ensure best practice and engage in regular continuing professional development. I work with individuals and couples using a blend of Person-Centred approach focusing on you and the changes you want to make and Psychodynamic approach, valuing the relationship between past and present.

My therapeutic style

During our first session together, I will carry out an assessment by asking questions and taking notes and exploring what you wish to obtain from your counselling sessions and what your goals are. Together we can work on achieving those goals and I will provide tools for you that you can continue to use in your everyday life. You may feel apprehensive, anxious or a discomfort before starting therapy. Our sessions will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the process and to look at the ways we can work together.  There will also be an opportunity for you to share some of the struggles or difficulties that you want to explore.

Mindful Team.
