Welcome, my name is Di and I am a qualified person-centred counsellor. I believe that you are the expert on your own life. My role isn’t to fix you or tell you what to do. I will support you while you make sense of what’s going on for you. I’ve previously worked for over 10 years within the child protection sector, key working families navigating complex and often overwhelming circumstances. That experience deepened my understanding of why people behave the way they do due to their life experiences.
Our work together is led by you. You set the pace and bring what feels most important. I’ll listen carefully and reflect honestly, helping you notice patterns, emotions, and meanings that may not always be clear. My experience supporting families through crisis means I can sit with difficult conversations while remaining steady, calm and compassionate. I won’t push an agenda or offer quick fixes. I’ll support you in finding your own way forward. I may also bring in creative ways of working if I feel it would be beneficial.
As a person-centred counsellor, my style is warm, genuine, and grounded. I value authenticity and aim to be fully present with you. I offer empathy, openness, and gentle challenge when needed, always rooted in respect and unconditional positive regard.
