About me

About Katty

My professional experience includes working closely with children and families in early years settings, supporting adult learners facing barriers such as housing insecurity, financial stress, and caring responsibilities, and volunteering in emotionally sensitive environments, including hospice care, supporting individuals experiencing loneliness and social isolation. Through these roles, I have developed a strong foundation in supporting people during periods of emotional difficulty, change, and uncertainty. I am a trainee counsellor and second-year Counselling student at the University of East London; these experiences continue to shape my clinical awareness and belief in the importance of compassion, consistency, and presence. I am a registered student member of the BACP and practise within an ethical, reflective framework.

How I work with you

I aim to offer a warm, accepting, non-judgemental space where you can bring what feels important to you. I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, particularly if you have felt unheard or misunderstood. I work at your pace, building trust and safety, and I value openness, honesty, and respect within the therapeutic relationship. Sessions are collaborative, and we shape the work together, keeping your needs at the centre.

My therapeutic style

My approach is integrative, grounded in person-centred and humanistic values. A genuine, empathic relationship is central to meaningful therapeutic work. I draw on psychodynamic ideas to gently explore how past experiences and relationships may influence present feelings or patterns, when this feels helpful and appropriate. I also incorporate elements of CBT, offering practical coping strategies to support emotional insight, resilience, and the development of helpful ways of thinking and responding. My work is trauma-informed, relational, and grounded in empathy and reflection.

Mindful Team.
