I am currently in the first year of my Level 4 counselling qualification and at the beginning of my professional journey as a counsellor. Prior to this, I spent 18 years as a professional footballer, a career that allowed me to work within high-performance environments, develop resilience, and experience both success and challenge. While this was a hugely rewarding period of my life, it also brought its own pressures and personal difficulties. Navigating these experiences has played a significant role in my decision to pursue counselling, and has given me a deep appreciation of the impact life events can have on emotional wellbeing. Training as a counsellor has been an incredibly rewarding process, allowing me to combine lived experience with professional learning and personal growth.
Clients can expect a warm, friendly, and welcoming environment where the focus is fully on them. I aim to create a safe and supportive space in which clients feel able to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences at their own pace. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is central to my work, and I value trust, respect, and empathy as key foundations for meaningful and effective counselling.
I am training as a person-centred counsellor and work within a humanistic, non-directive framework. My approach is grounded in the core conditions of empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard. I aim to provide an accepting and non-judgemental environment where clients feel heard and understood, enabling them to explore their inner experiences and work towards greater self-awareness and personal growth.
