Hello, my name is Kyriaki. I am a trainee counsellor currently working towards the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I hold a PhD and a Master’s degree in Psychology, and I also work as a lecturer at St Mary’s University. I am a registered student member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and fully adhere to their ethical standards. This means I am dedicated to practicing with integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism, continually reflecting on my work through supervision and ongoing professional development.
I have previously volunteered at SHOUT offering text-based support to people in moments of crisis and Barretstown, an organisation offering therapeutic programmes to children affected by serious illnesses. These experiences, alongside my background in psychology, have shaped my compassionate and grounded approach to counselling.
I provide a warm, compassionate, and confidential space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. I believe that each person is the expert in their own life, and I work collaboratively with you, at your own pace, to help you better understand what matters most to you.
My approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and genuine curiosity. I aim to create a supportive relationship where you feel heard, valued, and accepted, and where you can build confidence in your ability to make choices that feel right for you. Together, we can explore challenges, strengths, and possibilities, helping you move towards greater clarity, resilience, and emotional well-being.
My therapeutic style is integrative, drawing on a range of counselling theories and approaches to ensure our work is tailored to your individual needs, experiences, and goals. My role is to listen deeply and walk alongside you in your journey to healing, growth and self-knowledge. I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is central to the therapeutic process, and I am committed to building a safe, strong and trusting connection with you.
